Our Puffin is no less durable and is built to survive under the harshest of conditions. This blade has all the features and attention to quality found in all of our products.The "Puffin" is a full tang design with removable grip scales attached by socket-head cap screws; available at any hardware store in case of breakage or wear. Three threaded bushings are pressed into the tang and project into sockets that support the grips. This gives you the ability to remove and thoroughly clean all parts. This hallmark of McCann knives has been copied many times by others trying to mimic our quality and superior performance.Our attention to detail goes much further. We use a VHG (Variable hollow grind) edge done on a $90,000 CNC machine, not a $1,500 belt grinder like most knife makers. The edge on our knives is micro serrated thanks to our special grinding wheels.
