More than a dozen years ago we made the first FIGHTER. We were prompted to build it by our good friend Curtis Iovito. Curtis is one of those rare people with the ability to design and make knives of nearly perfect form. This knife is a highbred, coming from the minds of both Curt Iovito and Rich McCann. Curtis drew the basic shape and we took it from there; adapting superb manufacturing, heat treat finishing, sculpted grips, and our world famous V.H.G. edge grind. It has a full tang, with no removal of material in this area, to make the tip very quick and light; easy to point, thrust, and slash. A slight downward draft of the tang makes a reverse, saber, or hammer grip very comfortable. This knife is no lightweight in the strength department; the alloy is of O-1 and is a 56 on the Rockwell C scale. The grips are made of phenolic or micarta (as some of you will know it by). We employ our field-proven bullet-proof screw-and- bushing attachment points. With its integral hilt, no part of the Fighter is riveted, soldered, or epoxied so nothing can loosen or degrade the strength of the knife. Most knife makers have one or more of the products they sell made overseas...we use no imported material and nothing is made out of the country. All edges are de-burred to give it the look and feel of "first class”…not just “world class.” Who wants to carry the second best?
